WELCOME MODERATOR

ROSANNA BROWN
CANDIDATE NUMBER 0800
CLAREMONT FAN COURT SCHOOL

EDITING:
I edited and created the BBFC certificate which features at the start of our Short film. We all tried to include many different editing style like cross dissolves and hard cuts to highlight the tension which rises throughout the film.

CAMERA WORK:
I took control over the camera work as well as acting in the Short Film. Charlie and I tried to involve lots of different camera angles and shots, like extreme close up when Alice suddenly wakes up, to make it as interesting and unique as possible.

DIRECTING:
We all were involved in directing and deciding what scenes would involve what. For example, I came up with the idea of the dinner scene and the close up of the Dad's PTSD episode. Georgie came up with the idea of Alice breaking into the father's office and Charlie came up with the dad's voice over scene. We tried to involve most of our ideas and by the end of it we all came out with great ideas and most of them were used in the final product.

PLANNING: ISSUES OUR FILM FACES

ISSUES THAT OUR FILM FACES by Rosie Brown

CONSTRUCTION: DEVELOPING THE FILM POSTCARD

Film Postcard

FRONT
BACK

I created my Film Postcards on Photoshop. Photoshop made it so easy to edit and alter the postcards. I was able add and change the coloured fonts and make it 3D. I was also able to change the filter of the picture to black and white.

Visual Codes:
I used this picture of Alice on her own as it really shows the feeling of isolation and loneliness. It represents the idea of her being abandoned by her family. I chose to have the picture in black and white as it highlights the dullness wash on her face making her look upset.

Tagline:
The tag line that I used was "You don't know what I've done for you." I chose this as it is one of the most powerful lines in our short film. It shows the dad's controlling and possessive side which of course frightens Alice. This one simple line really tells the audience all about their relationship.

Title:
I really wanted the tag line to be the main focus on the front of the postcard and didn't want the title to draw the reader's focus away from it, that is why I opted for a more subtle approach with the title and the tag line to be very bold. I chose a simple font with the colour of it being black so it would go with the black and white theme.

Social Media:
I added our company's social media accounts for Twitter and Instagram, this meant that the readers could go look at some behind the scenes footage and some more information regarding our short film.

Design and Layout:
Throughout all of our different postcards, we wanted all of them to have a common theme with each other. All of ours had some sort of red block in the corner of the page and also some of the writing in bold red, this made made key words stick out. We thought the colour red is a very contrasting colour to black and white and worked nicely with our thriller theme to it.

CONSTRUCTION: DEVELOPING THE FILM WEBSITE

The link to my website: https://rosiebrrown.wixsite.com/silentvoices

I have created a Film Website to help promote my Short Film. I wanted my website to be as detailed as possible and to provide the audience with the most essential pieces of information regarding our Short Film and any other products that we have made along the way. With this in mind, I added in all the Hot Seating videos which shows the characters personalities and views on things more in depth, it allows the audience to get to know the characters more. I also included a page on the actors' background and why they wanted to be apart of this short Film, this allows the audience to know more about the actors before watching it. I also included essential information like the release date and our social medias. I included all of our production company’s social media’s like twitter and Instagram so it gives the readers a choice to be able to do further research if they want to on the making of our short film. Our social media includes photos of some behind the scene shots, latest updates, release dates and many more. If the readers to want to look at our social media pages then all they have to do is press on the logo of the platforms and it will take them straight to them. Including the release date a vital piece of information on our website as it tells everyone who is reading when the Short Film is out.

CONSTRUCTION: SOCIAL MEDIA

Social Media

Social media is essential when promoting anything. Every company uses social media like Instagram and Twitter to build awareness about their brand, it boosts visibility among potential audiences and customers. This is why we wanted to create social media accounts, so that people can find our work, and follow our journey. We created an Instagram and Twitter account so we can also post regularly and update our readers on potential release dates and many more.
